eCLUB VISIONING

At the last visioning meeting, the attendees suggested a means for members to ask questions, offer suggestions, and discuss ideas among other things. So. . .please add something to the Comment Box below and we'll see what you have to say. Thanks!

Thank you for the two wonderful Club Visioning sessions. Too bad not too many club members participated. Maybe Saturday mornings are difficult. However we now have a defined Vision and a Plan. So I say let's start implementing the Plan immediately. Zoom will become an important tool for that. Let's display our first and last names on that so we can see who is there. We learned at the January Board Meeting that iPlan Implementation is happening, so that is good news. Thanks again to DG Cindy and our leadership team. Geoff.

I really wanted to participate in the visioning process but have a conflict on Saturday mornings. I hope what follows is what was meant by sharing ideas...

I would be interested in hearing about innovative means for continuing service work during the pandemic. My 5 person medical team is the grateful recipient of a Rotary Grant funding a Vocational Training Team project. We paired with Red Cross in Malawi, Africa to teach basic health care and first aid to resident teams in remote villages we have enduring connections with. As the pandemic continues, the villages have on-going needs which are unmet. After traveling to Africa yearly to teach and host medical camps for 12 years, it is heartbreaking to put this work on hold. For obvious reasons, it is not safe for us to travel and as long as our communities are in crisis, our services are needed here.

Many fields have transitioned the bulk of their interactions to virtual; I have been thinking for a while of ways in which to transition to a virtual effort. Is there a forum for brainstorming this kind of work within our club or within our district?

Lucinda, Thank you for your service and joining the Board in this your first year. With all your commitments it must be difficult to balance everything. At this point, neither the eClub nor the District has a discussion forum. It was part of the visioning and something we could really use. I believe the district has a grant program that would allow the club to pay for the software to add more tools so we can enhance the clubs communication and interaction. The question is, will they get used? Another idea from the visioning is to add a mini-crowd funding platform where any member of the club can propose a small project for funding and other members can support that project with time, treasure or talent. If the will is there, we can do anything.
