The Navajo Solar Light (NSL) Project

The recent Navaho Solar Lights installation (install April 18-19, 2025, Chinle, AZ) fielded crews comprised of eClub Rotarians Roger Allen and Molly McCallum of the Rotary eClub of the State of Jefferson, Durango Daybreak and Noon Rotary plus Rotarians from Castle Rock, Colo. The crews completed 21 installations, which brings the grand total to over 400 Navaho homes now lit by solar kits.

The Navajo families’ homes are located too far from the local power grid and still use kerosene lamps for lighting. Installing solar light kits enables children to study and parents to work safely after sunset.
