February is Black History month and the 2021 theme is “Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity.”
Until I did some research on Black History Month, I didn’t know there was a theme each year nor did I know that Dr. Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week in 1926. He wanted the week to be celebrated in February between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Since 1976, every American president has proclaimed February as Black History Month.
As usual, Bruce has selected an excellent program to honor this special month.
