Welcome to this week’s meeting of the eClub of the State of Jefferson.
Hello, eClub Members! Welcome to our weekly meeting.
On the 18th of June I arrived in Massachusetts and plan to be here for the next few months. Sometime in the next few weeks we are going to go see the tall ships in Boston Harbor, then we are going to go to upper New York State to visit family, and sometime between the end of July and September we are going to go up to the Canadian side to see the Niagara Falls. Otherwise, we’re just going to hang out in the suburbs of Boston. It’s so nice to be a member of the State of Jefferson Rotary eClub, where you can live or be anywhere, and participate in a Rotary Club on your time.
During our June 2026 board meeting the board was informed that we will be receiving another District Grant to go towards our ongoing project of providing solar lights to people without electricity in the Navajo Nation. The next installment will be held sometime this coming fall. If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact Roger Allen. Jean Hamlton and I participated in the spring installation of 2024. What a great experience that trip was!
Unfortunately, we did not receive the second District grant request for the Pakistan sewing machines. Maybe next year.
Well, I have two more weeks as your eClub President. Thanks again for all your support throughout this past year. Special thanks to Bob (Gibson), Bruce, Patti, Obaid, Bill, and Geoff. What a great team of volunteers you all have been when I needed advice or to look up past history. You made my term as president slide through without any major hick-ups. Again, Obaid will begin his term as President on July 1, 2026. Please help him out whenever he needs it.
I can’t end this without saying, “Jean (Hamilton), I miss you every day. You were a very dedicated Rotarian especially to our eClub for so many years. We all miss you.
I hope you enjoy today’s program and tech support, and don’t forget about attending our Coffee Chats every Tuesday.
Yours in Rotary, Jackie
Jackie Oakley
2025-2026 Club President

The Four-Way Test
The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships.
The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things we think, say or do
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Through the efforts of President Elect Obaid; the eClub has purchased and is preparing to distribute sewing machines to familes in Pakistan. These families suffered devastating losses from flooding. The sewing machines provides these families with an opportunity to generate income and to better their lives.

Note the eClub name stenciled on the sewing machines.

Thank you for your generous support of The Rotary Foundation. Your commitment helps club members around the world create lasting, meaningful change — one project, one vaccine, one community at a time.
Because of donors like you, we’ve funded 457 district grants and 1,488 global grants so far this Rotary year. These grants empower our members to meet urgent needs, strengthen communities, and build a more resilient future.
In India, we supported community and economic development by providing computers and interactive whiteboards to the Govardhan Skill Centre. In the United States, we helped members establish pollinator plots, rain gardens, shoreline plantings, and public land reforestation projects in Newburgh, New York. In Ukraine, we provided two fully equipped mobile emergency clinics to deliver critical medical treatment and trauma care in the Kherson region. In Taiwan, we supported the SongDong Indigenous community in Taichung by supplying water pipes and providing education about water, hygiene, and sanitation.
And around the globe, we continue to work toward eradicating polio. In 2025 alone, more than 350 million children were vaccinated in 28 countries, thanks to the efforts of Rotary, our global partners, and supporters like you. Your generosity brings us closer every day to a world without this devastating disease.
Every child protected from polio and every grant that becomes a life-changing project is a reflection of your belief in a better world. Thank you for remaining dedicated to Doing Good in the World.
Sincerely,
The Rotary Foundation
